Clover is an official Therapy dog

Clover has passed her pet partners exam! My wife has been taking Clover to Pet therapy class at Teamworks and they have passed thier exam. My wife has taken our older dog to Wake Med as a therapy dog for 3 years but Kira has become too old. So it is time to move the younger dog in.

We always knew that Clover would be a challenge to get certified as a therapy dog because she is so hyper and would rather do agility and play than visit people. Clover is actually very shy. I think this training has been very good for her. The next step is to get her accepted at Wake med. They have a very stringent acceptance policy. We have been preparing Clover by exposing her to as many situations as possible. This past week we took her into my work so she could meet people and get exposed to new things like an elevator and open stairs. Publish Post

The hot weather continues as agility season creeps closer.

There hasn't been a lot going on with clover on the agility front because it is still so hot. We have had to cancel most of the classes this session due to heat. We have also had to cancel many of the course of the weeks.

We are going to have to get off our duff though, because agility season is fast approaching. the first one that I am registered for is the teamworks usdaa trial which I will also be working at. The following week is the NADAC trail at teamworks. I am going to have to miss one day of that trial because I have a work funtion. I have sent Publish Postmy application in for the durham AKC trial also.

Too Hot, Hot, Hot

This week has been a scorcher in NC. We have been having heat indexes of over 110, so class was cancelled and we are canceling Cow for tonight. I have thought about going and taking Clover swimming tonight but it may be to hot for even that!

This past Saturday we had the AARF summer picnic at team works and every one spent most of their time at the pond swimming. Of course we took Clover and she did very well with all the other dogs around.
